How it works
Jix is a small panel that floats above your meeting window and listens to both sides of the call. It notices when a question is asked out loud, implied in a sentence, or shown on a slide, and answers it from the documents you gave it. Every answer carries the passage it came from, so you read the source before you say it. Import your PDFs, text files, folders, scanned pages, and images once. Jix indexes them on the Mac and searches them two ways at the same time, by exact words and by meaning, so a question worded differently still finds the right passage. Ask about something on the screen and Jix reads the screen text on the Mac as well. Speech is transcribed on the Mac: NVIDIA Parakeet runs on the Neural Engine for English, and Apple’s on-device recogniser covers other languages. No audio is uploaded. The answer itself comes from your own ChatGPT account through the Codex CLI, or from a local Ollama model, and with Ollama nothing leaves the machine at all. There is no analytics and no telemetry. AI usage is not included.
