iOS App Development in San Diego: native Swift and SwiftUI apps

DevX Group LLC builds native iPhone apps in Swift and SwiftUI for San Diego startups and product teams: consumer apps, companion apps that pair with connected devices over Bluetooth, and apps with on-device AI. Led by founder Max Sheikhizadeh, priced at $95 to $175 per hour, with App Store submission included.

What we build

Native means building with Apple's own languages and frameworks instead of a cross-platform layer. It is the right call when the product is iPhone-first, needs deep hardware access, or has to feel exactly like the rest of iOS.

  • Consumer and business iPhone apps in SwiftUI, from first screen to App Store listing.
  • Companion apps for connected devices: Bluetooth Low Energy pairing, device setup, live status and push alerts.
  • Health and fitness apps that read and write Apple Health data with the user’s permission.
  • On-device AI: speech, vision and language features that run on the iPhone, for speed, offline use and privacy.
  • Subscriptions and in-app purchases, widgets, background tasks and the backend the app needs.

Native iOS or cross-platform?

If the app must ship on Android at the same time, a cross-platform Flutter app usually saves money, and our mobile development page covers that. If the product is iPhone-first, talks to hardware over Bluetooth, or depends on the newest Apple frameworks, native Swift is the better foundation. We make that call with you in week one.

One senior team behind the app

Many iOS apps are the front end of something bigger: a connected device, a cloud service, an AI model. Because the same senior team builds the backend, the cloud and the AI, the app is never waiting on another vendor to explain their API.

What we build with

Named tools, and the reason each one is on the list.

  • Swift and SwiftUI

Apple's own language and UI toolkit, for performance and the native feel users expect.

  • Core Bluetooth

Direct BLE communication for companion apps that pair with and control devices.

  • HealthKit

Permission-based access to Apple Health data for health and fitness products.

  • Core ML and on-device speech

AI features that run on the iPhone, so they work offline and keep data local.

  • StoreKit and RevenueCat

Subscriptions and purchases handled correctly, with entitlements you can see.

  • TestFlight and Sentry

Real testers on real devices before release, and crash reporting from day one.

How an engagement runs

Bi-weekly demos, billing per accepted milestone, then 30 days of stabilization and a 60-day warranty. Code and accounts stay in your name.

  1. 01Week 1

    Discovery and screen map

We map every screen and the systems behind them, and confirm native iOS is the right choice for your audience before code is written.

  2. 02Early build

    Build core flows

Onboarding, the main screens and any device pairing, shown in bi-weekly demos on a real iPhone.

  3. 03Pre-launch

    Test and harden

End-to-end tests with a fresh account, crash-free targets and an App Store review-guideline pass before submission.

  4. 04Launch + 30 days

    App Store launch and stabilization

Submission, review and release, then 30 days of on-call fixes. The code and the App Store account are yours.

Questions we get asked

How much does iOS app development cost in San Diego?

DevX Group LLC bills $95 to $175 per hour depending on the engagement tier, published on our pricing page. After the week-one screen map we quote a fixed price for the first release, so the total is known before build starts. Apple’s developer program fee is paid directly to Apple.

Can you build an iOS app that connects to our device?

Yes. We build companion apps that discover, pair with and provision devices over Bluetooth Low Energy, show live status and send alerts. We agree the Bluetooth protocol with your hardware team up front and also build the cloud behind the app, so the app is not negotiated between three vendors.

Do you also build for Android?

Yes. When Android is needed at launch we usually recommend Flutter, one codebase for both platforms, covered on our mobile development page. Native iOS is the recommendation when the product is iPhone-first or depends on hardware and Apple frameworks.

Who owns the code and the App Store account?

You do. The App Store developer account is registered in your name from the start, and the full codebase is yours at project acceptance, with the repository, runbooks and admin access to every service the app depends on.
