Custom Software for Startups: hire a senior team that ships production-ready products
DevX Group LLC is a senior software team startups hire to build their product: MVPs, SaaS and cloud platforms, web and mobile apps, and AI features, built production-ready from the first release. Founder Max Sheikhizadeh, 15+ years at Amazon, Qualcomm, Viasat and startups, leads every project hands-on. San Diego based, $95 to $175 per hour.
What startups hire us to build
Most early products need the same thing: a first version real customers can pay for, built so it does not have to be thrown away at the first hundred users. That is the work we do.
- MVPs: the smallest product that proves the business, with sign-up, billing and the one workflow that matters.
- SaaS and cloud platforms: multi-user web apps, APIs, admin dashboards, background jobs and the cloud they run on.
- Web and mobile apps: Next.js on the web, native SwiftUI on iPhone, Flutter when Android ships too.
- AI features: assistants, document search over your own data, and automation, in the cloud or running privately on the device.
- The rescue job: a prototype that works on a laptop but falls over in production, made reliable.
A senior team, not a staffing agency
You hire the people who write the code. Founder Max Sheikhizadeh leads every engagement hands-on and makes the architecture calls himself. When the work needs more hands, senior engineers from our team join and report through the same person, so nothing is lost in a handoff.
Our engineering team of 30 engineers, designers and project managers brings more than 50 shipped projects, several of them in our portfolio. Every one works under a DevX Group LLC contract. DevX Group LLC is a San Diego software company, registered in California in January 2024. Today it also builds and sells its own products.
We build our own products the same way
The strongest proof we can offer is software we built, launched and still run ourselves. Parlin and MailBridge are paid Mac apps. Parlin Recorder is on the App Store. Nutrify.AI is live on the App Store and Google Play. Jix and form-relay are in development. Every one is designed, engineered, tested and supported by the same team you would hire.
That means the stack, the release process, the monitoring and the App Store experience are not theory. They are what we do every week.
What production-ready means here
Production-ready is a list, not a slogan. It is the difference between a demo and a product people pay for.
- Automated tests on the flows that make money, run before every release.
- Error monitoring and alerts from day one, so a bug is a ticket, not a guess.
- Security basics done properly: authentication, permissions, secrets, backups.
- A deployment you can repeat, 30 days of stabilization after launch and a 60-day warranty on our code.
- You own the code, the repository and every account at acceptance.
What we build with
Named tools, and the reason each one is on the list.
Next.js, React and TypeScript
The web layer for SaaS apps, dashboards and APIs, deployed on Vercel or your cloud.
Supabase and Postgres
Auth, database and storage in one place, so the backend ships alongside the app.
SwiftUI and Flutter
Native iPhone apps, or one Flutter codebase when Android ships at the same time.
Claude, GPT and local models
AI features in the cloud, or running privately on the device with Ollama and Core ML.
Stripe, Lemon Squeezy and RevenueCat
Payments and subscriptions on the web and in the app stores, done correctly once.
Sentry and automated tests
Errors reported from day one and the money flows tested before every release.
How an engagement runs
Bi-weekly demos, billing per accepted milestone, then 30 days of stabilization and a 60-day warranty. Code and accounts stay in your name.

Discovery
We agree the one product worth building first, who it is for and what done means, then quote a fixed price for that first release.
- 02Weeks 2 to 6
Build in the open
Working software every two weeks on a preview link you can click, with priorities re-ranked as you learn from users.
- 03Weeks 6 to 10
Harden
Tests, error monitoring, security review and performance, so the first real users meet a product, not a prototype.
- 04Weeks 10 to 12
Launch and stabilize
Release to production or the app stores, then 30 days of on-call fixes. Code, accounts and runbooks are yours.

Questions we get asked
How much does it cost to hire a senior team to build a startup MVP?
- DevX Group LLC bills $95 to $175 per hour depending on the engagement tier, published on our pricing page. A focused first release is planned around an estimated 4 to 12 weeks. After week-one discovery we quote a fixed price for that release, so you know the total before the build starts.
Can I hire a dedicated senior developer team for my startup?
- Yes. Some startups hire us for one fixed-scope release; others keep a senior team building with them month after month. Either way, founder Max Sheikhizadeh leads the work and adds senior engineers from our team when the scope needs them.
Do you only build MVPs?
- No. We also build SaaS platforms, internal tools, cloud backends, mobile apps and AI features for companies past the MVP stage, and we take over existing codebases that need to become reliable.
Who owns the code?
- You do. The repository, the cloud accounts, the app store accounts and the code are yours at acceptance, with no license restriction. We hand over runbooks and admin access to every service the product depends on.
Do we have to be in San Diego?
- No. We are based in San Diego and meet in person locally if you want to, but most of our clients work with us remotely across US time zones.
