License & Terms for Jix
Acceptance
By installing or using Jix ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms and to the Jix Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
What your license covers
DevX Group LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Jix, subject to these Terms.
One license is for one person on up to two Macs that you own or control. It is not a shared or floating license. If you need more than one seat, email support@devxgroup.io and we will quote you.
- ActivationJix confirms your license by sending your license key and a hashed device identifier to Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. That is how the two-Mac limit is counted.
- One feature setEvery way of paying buys the same app. There are no features held back for a higher price.
Trial, prices and refunds
There are three ways to pay for the same license.

A Lifetime license covers every 1.x release of Jix for as long as we publish them. It does not cover a future 2.0, which is sold as a separate product. Payments are taken by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, and taxes are handled by them. To cancel, refund or ask about a charge, email support@devxgroup.io.
AI usage is not included
Jix does not include hosted AI and the price does not buy any. You supply the model that writes the answer: either your own ChatGPT account through the Codex CLI, or a local model you run yourself with Ollama.
Your use of that provider is governed by that provider’s own terms, its own privacy policy and its own usage limits, not by these Terms. If your ChatGPT account runs out of allowance, or the provider changes its rules, Jix cannot answer and that is outside our control.
What we claim, and what we do not
Jix is hidden from the Dock and the app switcher, and it is left out of screenshots you take yourself.
We have verified that the Jix panel is absent from a shared screen in Google Meet, Zoom and Slack, by sharing the whole screen and viewing the share on a second device on 21 September 2026. Those three apps are the extent of that claim.
- We make no claim about any screen-sharing or recording app other than those three.
- We make no claim about software auditing the machine. Jix runs under its own name and any tool that lists running applications can see it.
- We do not defeat, bypass or suppress any macOS permission prompt or recording indicator.
- You are responsible for using Jix within the rules that apply to you, including any rule set by the other people on your call.
Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software except as expressly permitted by mandatory local law.
- Share, resell, sublicense, lend, lease or rent your license key.
- Remove, alter or obscure copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices.
- Use the Software to record or transcribe a conversation where the law requires consent you do not have.
- Use the Software in any application where failure could result in death, personal injury, or severe physical or environmental damage.
Third-party components
Jix ships with third-party components under their own licenses, including FluidAudio and the NVIDIA Parakeet speech model for on-device transcription. The Codex CLI, OpenAI and Ollama are supplied by their own vendors under their own terms and are activated only by you. You are responsible for complying with those terms.
Not professional advice
Jix transcribes speech and drafts answers from documents you supply. Transcripts contain errors, and a model can be wrong even when it quotes your document correctly. Jix shows you the passage behind an answer so you can check it before you say it.
Do not rely on Jix output for medical, legal, financial, regulatory or court-of-record purposes without independent human review.
Updates
We may release updates that fix bugs, improve performance or add features. Updates are governed by these Terms unless an updated license accompanies the release.
Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated. Your rights terminate automatically if you breach them, and a Monthly license ends when you cancel or when payment fails. On termination you must uninstall the Software and remove all copies.
Disclaimers
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TRANSCRIPTION ACCURACY, AND ANSWER ACCURACY. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any specific macOS version, meeting application or AI provider.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DEVX GROUP LLC, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) FEES YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may bring a small-claims action in its local court. Class actions and class arbitration are waived to the maximum extent permitted by law.
EU and UK consumers retain mandatory rights to bring claims in their local courts under their national law; nothing in these Terms overrides those rights, including any statutory right of withdrawal.
